We are asking for the forgiveness
of the Hungarian National Debt
|
|
The Workers Council lends its support to Haris' call for the forgiveness of at least half
of the Hungarian National Debt. The bulk of the funds were used for supporting regimes
and external interests. Only a fraction was used for re-industrialization, many of which
are now controlled by foreign enterprises.
Chairman Imre Palkovics reveals that he has been muted for two years by the Hungarian
Treasury to assure that the reckless borrowing may continue. Palkovics expresses his
hope for the future after meeting with Haris.

Haris is Preparing for Budapest
|
|
Robert Haris calls for the filing of a complaint against the European Union with the
WTO and declares that if Hungary defends the Forint by purchasing it, it will step into
the ultimate Euro-trap wasting remaining hard currency resources.
"The IMF is not a bank, but a collection agency that upholds the slaves so that they
can continue to labor," said Haris.

Haris attends Banking Committee Hearing
|
|
Robert J.S. Haris and Julie Harris McCrey attended U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy
F. Geithner's testimony before the Senate Banking Committee. Many of the subjects
presented in Robert Haris' February 8th letter to Congressman Charles B. Rangel were
touched upon by the probing committee members in search of specific proposals regarding
the financial rescue plan. Following the hearing, Haris handed Secretary Geithner a USB
memory key containing all of his letters addressing the economy, and a handwritten note
recommending the issuing of peace bonds to finance the economic recovery program.

Robert Haris could be the next American
Ambassador in Budapest
|
|
“... the United States won’t be able to redeem its once highly respected international
authority and influence, which has fallen into discredit by flawed foreign policy, if they again
appoint career diplomats as ambassadors.”
According to Julie Harris McCrey, "Ambassadors are needed who can understand and feel
throughout – the host nation’s history, struggles, ambitions, and successes as well as
their failures."

Fundraiser seeks to boost Dems statewide
|
|
“We know minimum wage has gone up, but it’s about 40 percent behind where it should
be. We know everyone is talking about urban renewal, but we also need rural renewal in
states like Pennsylvania. The message is ‘It’s our duty to remember there is more to the
ticket than just the top.’”
-Robert J.S. Haris
